Join our Taller de Permiso team!

Taller de Permiso is a creative placemaking project that celebrates the talent and sensibilities of the Buena Vida and larger Brownsville community. The project is a two year campaign that uses art to demystify the current city permitting processes, and that invests in the aspirations and dreams of Buena Vida community members to develop micro-businesses that will contribute to equitable economic development in the region.

Taller de Permiso activities include public art events, workshops, community meetings, performances, and group classes. This campaign is a project from Las Imaginistas, a collective of artists and bridge-makers from Brownsville, Texas who use art and organizing to imagine and build equitable environments where people can thrive.
