Mobile Market Soft Launch

The Taller de Permiso grupo de trabajadores ambulantes joined the Dia de los Muertos festival hosted by Revival of Cultural Arts at Market Square on Saturday, November 2nd. Then, on December 5th, we participated in the City of Brownsville’s holiday lighting event at Lincoln Park.

The events provided an opportunity for Taller de Permiso vendors to launch their small businesses and interact with community members in anticipation of our mobile market launch in 2020. They also allowed for us to showcase our mobile vending stand and modified tricycle made into a “comedor comunitario,” designed and built by co-founder Nansi Guevara in collaboration with sculptural artist, Bianca Camarillo.

The official launch of the Taller de Permiso Mobile Market will be held in February 2020, in collaboration with the Brownsville Wellness Coalition and the Carlotta K. Petrina Cultural Center.
