The "world's richest man," billionaire Elon Musk, wants to expand his private SpaceX facility at Boca Chica Beach in Brownsville, TX. Nearby residents have been speaking out against the destructive operations of the SpaceX facility for years. On the same night Musk was host of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, RGV residents streamed their own Saturday night special, Sabado Night Live, to address Space X, Elon Musk, and the problematic issues surfacing from Space X on a local, regional and universal level.

"Ambulante Power!" is a FREE comprehensive vendor guide explaining why mobile vending is important for economic justice, and how local vendors can enter this economy. The guide includes information on Texas vending laws, contact information for entering local community markets, and an overview of vendors organizing in other communities at the national level. Ambulante Power was developed as a Spanish resource to meet the needs of the often excluded immigrant/Spanish-speaking population in Brownsville.

Desde Brownsville a Boston
On Saturday, September 14th, Las Imaginistas participated in the Joy Parade, featuring inflatables by textile artist, Nick Cave. The parade was part of “Augment,” a multifaceted project by Cave that “asks us to reflect on the power of the individual versus the collective, and on the difference between happiness and joy as a means to confront a time fraught with division.” We marched three miles through the historic streets of Boston, dancing, playing music, and expressing collective joy with more than 500 community members. The parade ended at Upham’s Corner, where we settled for another day of fun and festivities.

Las Imaginistas Develop Guide for Local Vendors.
Throughout the summer, Las Imaginistas, have worked in collaboration with local artists to develop a vendor guide to help local vendors learn about vending ordinances and local markets. The project began in May with the Reportistas Printmaking Workshop taught by Celeste de Luna. The group will publish guide for street vendors at upcoming townhall.
